Season 9 - Closet

In honor of the Patriots and Tom Brady playing in the Big Game we decided to review the season nine episode Closet. This SVU episode revolves around Lincoln "Tom Brady" Haver who is the best quarterback in pro football until he is mistakenly outed after his boyfriend is murdered and he is forced to retire after his history of concussions are brought to light. Our football themed review also features an interview with a former Ohio State coaching intern, a Mount Rushmore of fictional football characters, a Balls to the Wall SVU Marathon in Making a Marathon, a You're Welcome Dick Wolf that connects Mike Shanahan to a prostitution conspiracy theory, and a return of the Snack Segment for Super Bowl foods. Additional segments include Taylor's 30 Second Recap, SVU in the News, Simpsons Did It, IMDb Credit of the Week, Talent Scouting with The USA Network, and (Worst) Cop of the Week.

Season 11 - Users

Inspired by our mutual love and admiration for BD Wong, this podcast episode is a review of the Season 11 episode Users. An episode that begins with a rape/murder investigation in a sleazy motel progresses to an adult sociopath running a shelter (cult) for troubled teens and Dr. Huang will stop at nothing to get it shut down. Jeff and Eli review and recap an episode that also includes a power ranking of the top cults of all time and a Next Witness call to an actual doctor to validate the events from the episode. Additional segments include Making a Marathon, SVU in the News, Fan (Sad) Fact of the Week, Talent Scouting with Dick Wolf, IMDb Credit of the Week, a You're Welcome Dick Wolf ripped from the Coachella Craigslist headline, and our Cop of the Week.

Season 15 - Gambler's Fallacy

This latest Law & Order SVU review is a breakdown of the Season 15 episode Gambler's Fallacy. SUPER SPOILER ALERT - GO WATCH THE EPISODE FIRST. Our favorite guest Sean has returned and helps us introduce our newest segment - Sean's 30 second episode review. Sean's freezing cold takes throughout our watch only enhanced the viewing of this Rollin's centered episode and her journey into the underground Irish gambling scene in New York City. Jeff and Eli break down the episode's main plot points until everything culminates into a Taco Bell analogy and the lessons you can learn from spying on a coworker. Additional segments include Making a Marathon, SVU in the News, IMDb Credit of the Week, Talent Scouting with Dick Wolf, Next Witness (featuring our patent lawyer answering questions about undercover cops and child porn), A You're Welcome Dick Wolf from Eli, and our Cop of the Week.

Season 8 - Loophole

In this fourth installment of The SVU Podcast: Characters Welcome the boys are back and they are discussing the season eight episode Loophole. The discussion begins with Jeff and Eli trying to prove once and for all which Goldberg (Bill vs Whoopie) episode of Law & Order SVU is the best. The climactic opening scene featuring the former wrestling great rampaging on PCP is broken down along with the rest of the episode which includes a false pedophile arrest resulting in a prison shanking, the most helpful criminal with an ear wax problem of all time, and a white collar crime convicted through blackmail. This week's segments include Making a Marathon, Talent Scouting with Dick Wolf, SVU in the News, Fun Fact(s) of the Week (featuring our first episode EGOT), You're Welcome Dick Wolf, Cop of the Week, and a collaborate Eli's Hot Take of the Week where we point out possible explanations for a listener not giving a five star review.

Dun Dun.

Season 16 - Granting Immunity

This latest SVU episode review is a breakdown of the Season 16 episode Granting Immunity. An opening montage to the tune of Cobra Starship's Good Girls Go Bad is the only real highlight of an otherwise lackluster episode as focus shifts to vaccinations instead of all the sexually based, especially heinous activity from the beginning. Regardless, Eli and Jeff still bring you plenty of takes including Jeff explaining that Olivia Benson's son Noah probably has autism and as a result she will become an anti-vaxxer in the years to come as well as a surprise Eli's Hot Take of the Week and a You're Welcome Dick Wolf episode you need to hear. Clueless Sean is back again for the Rewinds along with other segments including Making a Marathon, SVU in the News, Fun Fact(s) of the Week, Simpsons Did It, Next Witness (featuring a call with a private school teacher), and the Cop of the Week.

Enjoy!

Season 9 - Authority (The Robin Williams Episode)

Eli and Jeff are back and this time they are discussing Authority (more often referred to as The Robin Williams episode). Our plot recap breaks down the episode's events including Eli reiterating his affirmation for prostitution, Jeff explaining that this is just a classic prank gone wrong, and Robin Williams inventing the mannequin challenge in Grand Central in 2008. This episode also features Clueless Sean joining the rewind and our segment portion including Making A Marathon, Fun Fact(s) of the Week, Talent Scouting With Dick Wolf, SVU in the News, You're Welcome Dick Wolf, a Mount Rushmore of Robin Williams, and Cop of the Week.

Enjoy!

Season 1 - Payback

In the series premier of The SVU Podcast: Characters Welcome we watched and reviewed the series premier of Law & Order: SVU - Payback. Join Jeff and Eli as they discuss Benson's first day on the job as she struggles with the concept of sexually based offenses and how especially heinous they can be as her and Stabler investigate the murder of a serial rapist who gets his "cigar" cut off in the back of a cab. Our first episode includes our two part Rewatch Rewind with Clueless Sean and Eli's Hot Take of The Week as he justifies a scumbag's encounter with a prostitute. Additional segments include Making a Marathon, The Snack Segment, You're Welcome Dick Wolf, Next Witness (ft. our lawyer), and Cop of the Week.

Enjoy!
